Rachel Timberlake was born and raised in a small town tucked away in the rolling hills of Southern Indiana. Growing up, Rachel was always a very shy girl, only singing and dancing if no one else was around; but she always believed that she could entertain people if her nerves would allow it. Even though she had always dreamed of getting on stage, and letting loose in front of a crowd as a singer, the opportunity never presented itself. However, for years Rachel entertained many crowds as a stand-out basketball player in high school and college. After her college basketball career was cut short due to injuries, she moved on to teach elementary school, which she expected to do for the rest of her life. At the end of a stressful school day, Rachel would regularly walk in the door at home, crank up the stereo, and sing and dance around the house for hours. Her husband, noticing her talents and the joy that music brought over her, began encouraging her to sing in public. Finally, in July of 2008, at 26 years of age, Rachel performed publically for the first time at church. She left the congregation speechless. The performance created an adrenaline rush like no other, and left Rachel wanting more.
She began honing her skills and in December of 2008 performed for the first time in Nashville at open mic night at the world famous Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge. Since that time, Rachel has been fortunate to meet some wonderful people that have helped provide numerous opportunities for her to perform in the Nashville Honkytonks. Rachel recently finished recording her first EP record at 16 Ton Studios on Music Row in Nashville, and was fortunate enough to have some of Music City’s finest musicians play in her recording session. The record includes three originals, two of which Rachel co-wrote. As expected, the record turned out great, and she is excited for people to hear the finished product. Just recently, Rachel was selected as one of the nation’s top 64 unsigned artists by CMT with her video “Honky Tonk Queen”, as part of the Music City Madness competition.
Rachel is a sassy, high-energy bombshell that puts on an "in your face" rockin' country show. From the honkytonks of lower Broadway, to the bar rooms and bike nights of Southern Indiana, Rachel continues to put on electrifying performances, mixing her originals with today’s new country and some of the favorite southern rock music from the past. No matter where the show, Rachel has the crowd on their feet, and always leaves them wanting more. Thus far her music career has been in high-speed, and things are happening fast. Surely she’s on her way to doing something great!
